Rob The Bank Arsene?

Update: Van Persie says he wants out

Arsene Wenger has asked Arsenal to rob the bank to keep Robin van Persie.

He was quoted to have said

We need to keep Robin van Persie at all costs because we depend on him offensively
Starsport 5 July 2012

This is an admission of Arsene's failure.

If you have to depend on one person for the goals , than you have failed miserably as a manager-coach.

A good manager-coach would see to it that his team is not at the mercy of one guy. He would see to it that there are others he can rely on to deliver the goals.

What is Arsene doing with Gervinho? What is he doing with Park? What is he doing with Chamakh?

And why can't Arsene give a more ambitious and offensive role to Walcott? Or Oxlade Chamberlain?

And what does he plan to do with new acquisitions Lukas Podolski and Oliver Giround? Keep them in wraps like he much did with Chamakh and Park and even Gervinho and carry on with van Persie as the focus?

What if van Persie gets injured, assuming that he stays?

What if Van Persie wants to leave?

You can't keep a player who wants to leave.

The financial temptations nowadays aren't funny anymore. They are just irresistible.

And nobody plays football just for the love of a club  nowadays if we remember.

Last season, Nasir left, Fabregas left.

Did Arsenal collapse? Did they do any worse than they did when Nasir was with them, when Fabregas was with them?

No, they didn't do any worse.

And had it not been for Arsenal's penchant for spectacular collapse as the season closes, they might even have become the English Premier League champions.

Spain It Is!

4.41am Malaysian Time 2 July 2012

Spain have just deservedly won the Uefa Euro 2012 championship, convincingly beating Italy 4-0!

They were the best team throughout the tournament, playing their scintillating brand of football. Though at times like in the game against Portugal in the semi, they could be boring.

I was a little disappointed that Del Bosque didn't start with Torres, but at least he did play Fabregas from the start and that was crucial. Because with Fabregas, Spain always have a reliable player and play maker.

As I write now, Spain are in the stands receiving their trophy.

As long as Spain did not become cavalier in the passing, I knew they would make it. There were some bad passing, but on the whole they played their usual slick game and the score spoke of their dominance.

Del Bosque did bring in Fernando Torres in the end, and the striker proved his worth putting the game beyond doubt in the 84th minute by scoring the 3rd goal that practically broke Italy's back.

With this famous win, Spain have become the only country to have won three major international titles in a row.

Congrats!
